Chamber opera based on the life and letters of American painter Morris Graves (1910-2001). Libretto by Joan Schirle. Developed with funds from Opera America’s Opera Grants For Female Composers program. Scored for 5 voices, piano, cello, clarinet, accordion and multiple percussion including glass harmonica, piano harp and electronics. Excerpts from workshop rehearsal in August 2021.
*Vagabond
Chamber opera in 9 scenes, based on the life of Isabelle Eberhardt, writer and adventurer. Libretto by Jan Dalley. Developed with the Duffy Institute for New Opera and the Virginia Arts Festival, 2018. Scored for 5 voices and chamber orchestra. Excerpts from live recording of first full reading in March 2018.
